Experience Shakespeare like never before!

Helen O’Grady International is an established global name in the field of Speech & Drama. Our aim is to help individuals learn to express themselves better, relate to their peers and develop essential life skills through EduDrama. Other than our speech & drama programme, Helen O’Grady International – India Is known for their adaptation of William Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’.

It is the first effort ever in the realm of depicting Shakespeare’s colorful world through dance & pantomime. It combines components of experimental theatre with the period drama. It is one of Shakespeare’s latter plays a story full of adventure, magic & supernatural characters. It’s filled with universal human values of jealousy, greed, revenge, love & forgiveness.

The play begins on a boat, tossed in the storm which includes Alonso, the King of Naples; his son Ferdinand; his brother Sebastian; his kind old councilor Gonzalo; and Antonio, the false Duke of Milan. Prospero, who is the rightful Duke of Milan & powerful magician is on the island with a daughter named Miranda. Prospero has created the tempest for his enemies who wash up at his shore and uses black magic to seek revenge & restore himself with power.

The play has been directed by the renowned TV & Bollywood actor and mime artist Mr. K. Paintal. The play has a history of more than 38 houseful shows in Mumbai at all leading venues like St. Andrews, NCPA, Rang Sharda, etc. and in many cities across India like Chandigarh, Amritsar, Nagpur, Goa, Ooty, Pune, Varanasi and many more.

Our aim is to transform lives through drama and The Tempest has proven to be a great learning experience for young school and college students. It has enhanced their understanding of Shakespeare in a unique way. Their creativity and imagination are fired through the experience of live theatre, which is mounted on a grand Broadway-style musical. It is a visual delight featuring great acting talent; mesmerizing light & sound effects.
